A long, flat wooden paddle — the traditional paththa — cut from solid timber with a tapered handle and a broad flat blade for heavy stirring. It is made for thick, sticky work: kiribath, dodol, halapa batter, watalappan mixes, curries and jam in deep pots where a spoon bends or burns your hand. Suits caterers, sweet makers, bakeries and home cooks doing large-batch cooking; this is the large size, so check the length against your pot before ordering.
