A flat stirring paddle cut from kithul (fishtail palm) wood, with a rounded handle end and a broad blade for scraping and turning. It is the traditional tool for stirring milk rice, treacle, jaggery, halapa batter and thick curries in clay or heavy pots without scratching them. Suits home cooks and any kitchen or sweetmeat bakery doing Sri Lankan cooking over a long, slow boil.
