A cast aluminium thachchi — a deep, round-bottomed cooking pan with two riveted side handles — supplied without a lid. It takes heat fast and evenly, so it suits frying, tempering, deep-frying short eats and cooking down curries, sambols and sweetmeats over gas or firewood. Size 3P is a vendor size code rather than a measurement; it is one of the smaller sizes, good for home kitchens and for side dishes in a busy restaurant or caterer's line.
