A cast aluminium thachchi — a deep, round-bottomed two-handled pan — measured at about 10 inches across the rim. It suits deep frying, tempering, frying fish, kaju or vadai, and reducing curries and sweetmeats over gas or firewood. Built heavy enough for daily hotel and kitchen work, and handy at home for large-batch cooking; the "7P" is a vendor size/grade mark, not a capacity.
